Leaders of the ambitious venture say the project will create over 60 new jobs for locals and, “bring a unique social experience to the city’s vibrant cultural scene”. In an effort to inject even more fun into the bustling Brighton area, Pier Nine will also feature social activities such as karaoke spaces and private cinemas without membership fees, so groups of after-work revellers and those celebrating special occasions can drop in whenever they please. Work on the £5.2 million project started earlier this month and is expected to continue until its launch in 2020. Replacing the iconic Grosvenor Casino on the seafront, Pier Nine will be a multistorey redevelopment with 24-hour bars, restaurants, work spaces, gaming areas and two casinos.
